Hello Womeniya : Please share your first reaction and feeling on being District Chairman of IWC.

Yasoda Patibanda : Felt honoured, confident ,an emotion involving a strong sense of self esteem and belief in yourself.

Hello Womeniya : What will be your priority in the growth of Your District.

Yasoda Patibanda : Doing proper justice to our president’s call for motivating my District to give their best for SHEROES

Priority would be to reach out to as many needy as  we can, identifying and helping them overcome their obstacles. Undertake projects to help many at a time. Help women get back to their livelihoods after covid.

 

Hello Womeniya : What are the current challenges your District is facing due to this post pandemic .

Yasoda Patibanda : Less Interaction with fellow members at the personal level to strengthen the bond of oneness . Lesser participation in physical drives due to the pandemic scare.

 

Hello Womeniya : What is your future agenda to solve these problems

Yasoda Patibanda : Organise meetings encouraging members to attend so that there is more of interaction . Motivate members to participate in the voluntary drives following covid appropriate behaviour for their safety.Challenge is to increase the membership of inner wheel, by taking inner wheel into people, by roping in the local media to cover our services towards women. Will putup logos of inner wheel in the front desk of the malls on international women’s day with a small write up on girl education.

Yasoda Patibanda : Yasoda joined Inner Wheel in the year 2007 as a Charter Member of IWC Vijayawada Midtown. She served as the Club President in the  year 2011-2012. During her tenure, she adopted a village Paathapadu in Krishna District and constructed a bus shelter at the request of the residents. She put her heart and soul into the development of this village. She is the recipient of the Overall Outstanding President for the year 2011-2012.

She entered IW District 302 as Editor in 2015-2016 and brought out the first ever E-bulletin, launched the yellow pages and was successful in collecting Rs.1 lakh towards the District Fund. In the year 2016-2017 as District ISO. As District Secretary in 2018- 2019, she took up the onerous task of compiling the Inner Wheel Resolution Book. She was also made in “in-charge” of the District Inner Wheel library.

 

Hello Womeniya : Could you please share your lockdown experience and how your District performed during this difficult time .

Yasoda Patibanda : The lockdown on the account of pandemic is unforgettable in the history of mankind. Going by our motto ‘giving is living’ our club presidents distributed packed essential items to those who lost their livelihood, mostly the daily wage labourers. Covid patients who were recovering were given food at hospitals . They believed in being human during those testing times, help poured to women from our clubs for those women struggling to revive their businesses especially the weavers society. Virtually we organised seminars inviting personalities from various unexplored fields . These were informative and innovative. Our district tried to give its best against all odds in the pandemic situation in spite of road blocks.

 

Hello Womeniya :What is your appeal and message to Inner Wheel women .

Yasoda Patibanda : “In life, change is inevitable. One has to choose to cooperate with it, adapt to it and learn how to benefit from it. Once we embrace change, we find that it is an opportunity for growth.

The objective is to empower women and secure their lives. It is dedicated to the superwoman in each one of us. Our effort this year has to be channelled to this end. Every year we have a new theme but the message underlying is always the same, ‘Giving is Living’.

Friend, you are a part of an amazing organisation that gives you a great opportunity to serve! Start adding value to the lives of the downtrodden women by uplifting them! Realise your own potential by helping those women who need to realise theirs! Give your all to the betterment of women in society!

Hello Womeniya :Do you agree this pandemic brought a lot of changes in our personal and professional life

Yasoda Patibanda : Yes, agree that we now are seeing life from a different perspective. Realised that certain aspects are important than materialistic things. Professionally, we now have a more challenging task to sustain and move on with our commitments. To make up for what we lost during the pandemic we should double our efforts.

 

Hello Womeniya : Can you highlights some important service projects you did during this pandemic.

Yasoda Patibanda : Supported women by training them in computers, driving, mehendi designing etc. large scale sweet preparation was imparted to 18 women and eventually they were employed. Helping hand was given to the women weavers of Dharmavaram to resume after the corona crisis .

Empowering many women by arranging a vocational centre with 23  sewing machines and  imparting training in tailoring and stichting.

Provided monetary support for food, masks, sanitizers, sanitary pads, wheel chairs, vending machines. Conducted competitions for differently abled children, seminars on menstrual health, diabetes, dementia, gyanec problems, heart disease were conducted. Blood donation camps were organised.

Go Green rally, seminar for waste management and recycling were conducted. Solar panels to aid 20 acres of agricultural land were erected. Gosamrakshana, rescuing cows and sheltering them is a divine project that is promoted.

Clubs donated amount,essentials, medicines, food and spent quality time at orphanages. Serving home made food for an old age home was done on Gandhi Jayanti for unstoppable 39 years.

Donation of laptops, Tabs for deserving students coupled with training in various computer courses. Sponsored school and college fees for the underprivileged and differently abled. Felicitated teachers and conducted competitions in municipal schools. Supported the staff of an aided school by giving their salaries. Sponsored BBA for 2 deserving candidates.Seminars and awareness oath taking programmes were conducted highlighting ill effects of social evils.Conducted Know

Tobacco-No Tobacco campaign where 1100 muncipal School children were motivated against tobacco and alcohol consumption.

Inner wheel branding with generous donation through  T-shirts, tree guards,school benches, sewing machines  with Inner Wheel logos were distributed.

Proud to share that IIW Treasurer Sarita Lunani is from our District for the year 2021 – 22. The Margaret Golding award 2021-22 was conferred on PDC Ashoka Kumari and she is the first recipient of this award from District 302.

 

Hello Womeniya : Being a Social entrepreneur what is your goal and vision about the upliftment of the society.

Yasoda Patibanda : As a responsible social entrepreneur, my vision is to provide business opportunities for women which have a positive impact on the society and more so making women more stronger, financially independent thereby contributing their best to their families and society at large.Will bring in the successful women entrepreneurs whom we’ve helped on one platform, and they will share their success stories with the budding entrepreneurs thereby motivating them to conduct their business.

Brief Introduction of International Inner Wheel :

International Inner Wheel  Club is an international women’s  Social organisation to create friendship, service and understanding. It has clubs in over 100 countries with over 100,000 members.IWC has very strong presence in India. It has more than 3000 thousands clubs in Urban and rural India. Since the Covid 19 Pandemic breaks out Inner wheel club launched charity campaign worldwide. In our Inner wheel Social entrepreneur series in this Episode we are introducing very popular face of IWC, she doesn’t need any kind of Introduction.
