Every year, March 8 is celebrated as International Women’s Day across the world to promote women’s rights and honour their achievements across the political, economic, social and cultural spheres.

This day is a reminder of the grit and determination of women all across the world.
There is no force more powerful than a woman’s determination to rise.

Every life begins with a woman. Respect and encourage every woman for what she is. Women, are always respected, loved and appreciated.

Theme of Hello Womeniya.com this year on International Women’s Day 2023 is…
“To promote entrepreneurship culture among women entrepreneurs across globe.”

Women Social entrepreneurship is vital for our future. Collectively we can make a change by closing the gap between men and women in the workforce.
Entrepreneurs are those adventurous, daredevils who drive deep into the pressing problems of society and try to find solutions to them, not by leaving the responsibilities in the reins of the government or business, but by trying to change systems as a whole and persuading societies to take new initiatives.

In honor of International Women’s Day, we are introducing you to a very dynamic and popular Obstetrician and Gynaecologist from Mumbai for her remarkable and outstanding performance in the social field. Yes, we are talking about Dr. Mugdha Raut, a practicing Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and a Reproductive Immunologist. She shares her Professional journey with HelloWomeniya.com.

Dr. Mugdha Raut:

Famous As: Professional Entrepreneur

Based: Mumbai

Hello Womeniya : Could you Introduce yourself for our readers.

I am Dr. Mugdha Raut, a practicing Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and a Reproductive Immunologist. We have Centres, Dr. Raut’s Centre for Reproductive Immunology, in Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune in India and one international centre in Kuwait. At these Centres, along with my husband, Dr. Mohan Raut, we treat couples with Unexplained Repeated Pregnancy Loss, Unexplained IVF failures and Unexplained Infertility with Lymphocyte Immunization Therapy and other passive Immunomodulatory treatments.

Hello Womeniya: What Inspired to become Doctor.

I am privileged to come from a family where Women were treated equal to men even before I was born. So girls education in the field of their choice was as equal to boys education, with the same opportunities. There are men and women of all professions in my family. There are more doctors in my father’s side of the family. Their passion and dedication inspired me to become a doctor. I was always amazed by how the human body is created and really loved studying biology from childhood and then medicine. I realised that I am very passionate about learning about living organisms. It came naturally to me.

Hello Womeniya : What Challenges have you faced as a Woman doctor and how did you overcome them.

As a woman doctor, the main challenges I faced is that –
-Men don’t like to be examined by a woman doctor.
-I had heard from seniors that women are not good surgeons, so people prefer to get operated by men than by women. In reality, women are really good surgeons.
– Orthopedic surgery is not a woman thing

Hello Womeniya: Tell us Something about your professional journey.

I started my private practice in 1992. I had a very good practice from the beginning. I think my passion reflected in my treatment. I initially used to consult at various places, operate and deliver patients at different places. Once, there were three patients in labour at 3 different hospitals. That’s when I decided, this has to stop. I luckily chose the right life partner, who also happens to be a gynaecologist. So we decided to start a hospital of our own, a place where, if I were to be operated, I will go ( I was operated upon by my husband in our hospital also). With the support of my parents, we started our hospital. Gradually we made changes in our practice, started our Reproductive Immunology Centre too.

Hello Womeniya: Where Does your Inspiration come from.

My inspiration comes from my parents and my paternal grandfather.

Hello Womeniya: Do you think Medical is best profession for Women and Why?

A woman should choose a profession she is passionate about and it may not always be medicine. A proper professional degree in the profession of her choice and constant upgradation is of prime importance. Both our daughters are pursuing professions of their choice, which are not in the medical field. And both are very happy

Hello Womeniya: How you balance your professional and personal life .

This is the toughest area of my life. I could write a book on this. The early years were easy due to the more than 100% support from my parents. As they started falling unwell, it was very very difficult for me. A woman has to manage her profession, children, home and many more things. My husband is my pillar of strength. People have unrealistic expectations , however I learnt to do the best possible in every area. I may have not done 100% in areas other than my profession, which I never compromised. I may not have been the best wife, mother, daughter or daughter in law. One has to understand that it is ok to be average in other areas, not in your profession. And give up getting stressed.

Hello Womeniya: What advice would you give to someone who are aspiring Women Entrepreneur

Study well. Stay focused. Keep upgrading yourself in all aspects of your profession. Stay fit and healthy ( increase your capacity to receive) and be of service to the people who give you money ( This has direct proportion)

Hello Womeniya: what Women Inspire you.

My mother, Dr. Yashaswini Bade, who always had a positive attitude towards her professional aspirations. She successfully completed her PhD when her children were both teenagers. And all my woman friends, they support and inspire me every day.

Hello Womeniya: What’is your message on International Women’s Day.

Believe in yourself and your dreams. Stay focused. Don’t allow challenges and obstacles to steal your dreams. You alone are powerful, capable and enough.
