In our Inner wheel Social entrepreneur series in this episode we are introducing you a very dynamic and and popular social Entrepreneur of IWC  who firmly believes in Social service and charity work, she is passionate about social work and charity work. Yes we are talking about Asha Prasad President of Inner Wheel Club of Amrapali Patna, Dist- 325   who  came forward to help Covid-19 affected during lockdown.

Brief introduction of IWC:-

Inner Wheel, founded by British women Mrs. Oliver Golding in 1924, is the world’s largest voluntary women service organization created primarily for women.

International Inner Wheel is one of the largest women’s service voluntary organisations in the world and is active in more than 104 countries.
International Inner Wheel has three key objectives:

01. To Promote True Friendship
02. To Encourage the Ideals of Personal Service
03. To Foster International Understanding
Any woman who shares the three central aims of International Inner Wheel can join the organisation

They believe by working together -we can achieve our ambitions and make this world a better place for everyone to live in. The future is in our hands and we do not have to see how small the world is but how big the Inner Wheel is. We all have to be forward-thinking and make our voices heard.

We have to be innovative in our efforts to Inspire other Women to join the Inner Wheel, so that “Together We Can” can enjoy friendship and reach out to those who are getting left behind in this ever-changing world.

Mumbai: Inner Wheel Club of Amrapali Patna, Charter number: 4174, came up with Covid projects to help the needy in this pandemic crisis.

Charity project details during pandemic :

Project 1:-

Distribution of Sanitizer Dispensers
Details- During July 2020; keeping in view the increasing number of Covid cases, our club decided to utilize its funds in something that will benefit the masses and help them in their fight with the virus. We distributed 9 Sanitizer dispensers to various public places such as temples, a railway station, hospitals, offices, apartment complexes, and a police station. As these places saw an influx of a large number of people every day, these places needed to be well equipped to maintain hygiene.

 

Project 2:-

Awareness program on Covid-19
On the 19th of July 2020, our club organised a Webinar for children of five villages to create awareness of Covid-19 and the safe practices that they should follow to minimise the risk of being infected by the virus. The keynote speaker of this webinar was Dr. Ashima Binny. It was also attended by the members of our club.

Project 3:-

Distribution of masks.
Our club has been actively distributing masks throughout the cities and villages of Bihar ever since the Pandemic has started. We distributed hand-painted as well as printed Logo masks among all sections of our society and distributed around 3000 masks to fight the pandemic.

Project 4:-

Responsible Indian.
Being a responsible citizen of our country, our club has actively been helping those who were affected economically during this pandemic and have been needing help to restart their economic activities and provide for their families.
We have donated four hand-carts to migrant laborers which have helped them to start their businesses on a small scale and make them self-sufficient. On 3rd February 2021, our club also donated a clothes shop to Sangeeta Kumari who is suffering from cancer and had lost her source of livelihood during the pandemic. She has also started an Applique Training Centre to teach people and improve their skills. The inauguration of the shop was done by District Chairman Dr. Sheela Ranjan.

Project 5:-

Distribution of Medicines.
We have been trying to take up such projects during the pandemic which will help the masses to fight with Covid-19. One such project done by us was the distribution of medicines worth 25000 Rupees on 9th August 2020 at S.K Puri Park, Boring Road, Patna

On 22 January 2021, Sparrow- A small endangered bird that the whole world is trying to save from extinction. 20th March 2010 was the first time “The World Sparrow Day” was celebrated. This day has been celebrated as “The World Sparrow Day” since then to save Sparrows from extinction. The motto of this day is “I Love Sparrow”
They have also started taking initiatives to save Sparrows. On the day of their Chairman’s Visit, District Chairman Dr. Sheela Ranjan donated 10 birdhouses to people. IWC Amrapali will continue to make efforts to save Sparrows in the future.

IW District 325 was formed on 19th June 1985 with four clubs Darbhanga, Biharsharif, Hazaribagh, and Gaya. It was formed due to the efforts of the first District Governor of RI District 325, Late PDG Dhanesh Prasad. The first club of their District was the Inner Wheel Club of Darbhanga, followed by Biharsharif and Hazaribagh. Now the quantities have expanded and include patliputra, Patna, phulwarisharif, Satya danapur, saumya, Jamshedpur, Muzaffarpur, and others.
