Hello Everyone !

Welcome to My Profile

I am Gunjan Jain, I have had a very venturous life. I was never satisfied with doing just one thing and have always wanted to learn and try new things. I was home science student and very fond of decorating homes. Aesthetics was a very big part of my thinking and actions. I was never fond of cooking that much but I was very attracted to greenery, plants and nature in general. Even now, I draw most of my energy from the nature around me. I remember when I had gotten newly married I use to make gajaras and put them in my hair to smell fresh.
I was doing my bits but creativity took a back seat when I had kids. Once my kids grew older and more independent, I had more time for myself and for things I enjoyed doing. When we shifted to a bigger house in 2000, it gave me lot of opportunities to decorate different corners with plants and antiques. I would go to lucknow mohotsav every year and buy bed sheets, cushion covers, show pieces, pots, things mad out clay.
Being a kathak dancer, I have spent all my life dancing to different tunes. As a housemaker, I use to teach dance to women & children of the colony for Holi, Diwali functions and eventually I also started hosting a lot of functions. I also started ‘Masti Ki Danceshala’ to do choreographies for sangeeths, weddings, anniversaries and other functions. My husband and I became a part of Jaycees Club where we were very active in theatre, dance & music. We conceptualized a lot of theme parties, functions, competitions, games when we became the president of Jaycees Club in 2008.
I also started making bonsais and evergreen plants at home and started a nursery called ‘Nature’s Galore’ to promote having greenery & indoor plants in households. I gained a lot of success in that since there were hardly any people doing that in Lucknow 12 years ago. My clientage increased with the number of exhibitions and stalls I use to put. It gives me so much happiness when people call me up to tell me that the plant they got from me is still alive and healthy.
I always had been attracted to the energy of stones and crystals. I had a habit of collecting stones, from lakes, rivers, streams, beaches. I even loved wearing crystals and gems jewelry more than gold and diamond. I did a course on gemstones and crystals and also explored their healing power. I started a new venture by the name of ‘Crystal Calling’ where I started selling gemstones and crystal jewelry. This was again something very new to people and got a lot of attraction. I combined both my ventures ‘Natures Galore’ and ‘Crystal Calling’ and put up a lot of exhibitions, stalls and also do it from home. I was really satisfied with what I was doing because it was such a good balance of creativity and business.

Passionate about Music

I graduated in Hindustani Classical singing and always wanted to pursue that further. So currently I am in my 4th year of vocal music from Prayag University. Apart from singing and dancing I am also into theatres. I got it from my own mother since she was also a lot into it in her college days. Once both my kids went out of Lucknow to study further, I wanted to keep myself busy and not sit idle. I already had a lot of theatre and drama experience throughout my life in clubs and functions. I wanted to explore theatre on a deeper level and started being a part of group Mocking Birds & Nipa Rangmandli. I have done play गांव में कुछ बुरा होने वाला है with Mocking Birds , also played cameo in a movie/ short film “A family in lockdown” video. I also took many theatre workshops where I learnt a lot. Apart from this I also have diaries and diaries filled with my own writings / poems/ shers/couplets. Poetry is a very big part of my life on an everyday basis. I write about things that inspire me, things I observe, emotions and sometimes experiences and incidents. My next goal is to compile my thoughts in one place and take my writing more seriously since it goes hand in hand with the other things I do as well.
Currently I am doing a little bit of everything and also exploring more things. I believe that one never get too old to learn and explore new things. At least that is how I want to live my life. I really like this line from the movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara….

दिलों में तुम अपनी
बेताबियाँ लेके चल रहे हो
तो जिंदा हो तुम
नज़र में ख़्वाबों की
बिजलियाँ लेके चल रहे हो
तो जिंदा हो तुम!
