In interaction with Neha Singh, Immediate Past President of Inner Wheel Club, Jalandhar, District 307, Seema Arora said that the Inner Wheel Club is one of the largest women’s voluntary non-government organization in the world with a motto “FRIENDSHIP AND SERVICE”. It focuses on service towards the needy and underprivileged society. But the greatest opportunity it provides is friendship amongst the members across the globe, contributing to International Friendship and Understanding.

Seema Arora has been associated with the Inner Wheel Club Jalandhar, since the past five years. She quoted, “When I joined Inner Wheel, I never thought I will get eternal happiness and spiritual satisfaction. I always wanted to do something for the underprivileged section of the society and the day I joined Inner Wheel, I knew it’s the right platform.”

She mentioned that the Club is a charitable organization and undertakes various charity projects. We have adopted eight children from deaf and dumb school, whose fee is paid by the Club. We have even adopted two labour schools. We arrange for their stationery and celebrate festivals with these children. We also provide ration to needy families and help them in the marriage of needy girls.

The Club had distributed Ration kits and served langar to the needy people. They have dispersed immunity boosting Ayurveda medicine, Vitamin C tablets and masks to the needy.

Besides this, they had organized a Blood Donation Camp at LPU where 180 units of blood were collected. A dental checkup camp was also organized for children from deaf and dumb school.

Markedly, Mass Tree Plantation has been done in this monsoon season. Last year under the project ‘IKHTIAAR’ the Club had planted almost 5000 trees in different areas of Jalandhar. This year also they have planted almost 2000 trees in different areas and are planning to plant more trees to make their city green.
Furthermore, she is into charity since past five years. For the first two years, she worked as a member; later, she was inducted as the Director to serve the Club.

After that she served as a Secretary; and in the preceding year she served as a President of the Club for 2019-20. Now she is serving as IPP in the Club.

She conveys her message to the citizens by saying, “I would advise citizens to co-operate with the government and follow their protocols. Stay Home, Stay Safe. Do not panic, but just take proper precautions.

Inner Wheel Clubs are the true warriors of this Covid-19 pandemic. Amid the lockdown they have undertaken many charitable projects by helping the poor and needy in their hour of need.

They also rise to help people amid nature’s calamity which pushes them, particularly the poor to poverty. They leave no stone unturned in the discharge of their services towards people irrespective of their status, caste, creed & religion.

Mere words are inadequate to compliment for their charitable work and their zeal, zest and endeavor for charitable work amid any unavoidable circumstances.
