Entrepreneurs are those adventurous, daredevils who drive deep into the pressing problems of society and try to find solutions to them, not by leaving the responsibilities in the reins of the government or business, but by trying to change systems as a whole and persuading societies to take new initiatives

Yes we are talking about Sunitha Vallam District Chairman of Inner Wheel District  315, she shared her Inner Wheel journey with Hello Womeniya.com Correspondent Priyanka Yadav

Hello Womeniya : Please share your first reaction and feeling on being District Chairman of IWC.

Sunitha Vallam : Being the District chairman I thank almighty for providing me the opportunity to light the path of needy. I have gone through mixed feeling of excitement, happiness, inspiration, fear and curiosity. Being the Dist Chairman to lead Dist 315 is a proud feeling with great sense of responsibility. As the saying goes Service to Mankind is the Service to God.
The personal attention, interaction, genuine love, working as team are the priorities in the growth of the District.
In this pandemic though we were not able to meet physically but expanded our reach online and connected to women across the District with social media. The efforts of our members are commendable who showed extraordinary courage by going into fields and doing impactable social projects helping frontline workers and needy.
I am enjoying my responsibility, I have embraced new beginning with courage and faith, also experience’s that change brings wisdom to the heart and soul, we are still living in a global pandemic but we chose not to stop, life goes on , so are we.

Hello Womeniya : What will be your priority in the growth of Your Dis.

Sunitha Vallam : Strong,Resilient and fighter best described as me. My biggest personal achievement so far as bravely battling cancer and coming out victorious back to my wonderful family and Inner wheel family.My Inner wheel journey from becoming a member in 1997 to become Club Secretary and then President in 2009-2010 has been noteworthy, I excelled in these roles and was conferred the best award for both Best Secretary and President respectively. I served the Dist as Editor, ISO Treasurer, ESO, Dist Secretary, District Vice Chairman and became District Chairman.I belong to 3rd generation from my family to actively participate in Inner wheel activities. I take farward the legacy of my Grand mother as founder member, my Mother as Past President and my Aunt as Past District Chairman

Hello Womeniya : What are the current challenges your Dis is facing due to this post pandemic .

Sunitha Vallam : Past two years has been very difficult for the whole world but it teaches us compassion, humanity and work together to face any difficulty. This tough time shows strength of women . We work hard take care of family and friends, we prove our motto Strong women Stronger World. We are still not out of danger but Inner wheel has proven its strength and capacity to give up when needed.

Hello Womeniya : What is your future agenda to solve these problems

Sunitha Vallam : In spite of covid 19 disrupting the working of our clubs making it all the more difficult to function but it was indeed amazing to see each one continuously working to help the needy in the toughest times.let us all together build a stronger and healthier organisation by working together and creating an atmosphere of love , mutual trust and understanding. Let us all work with conviction, compassion and consistency and bring hope into the lives of needy

Hello Womeniya : Could you please share your lockdown experience and how your District performed during this difficult time .

Projects:A unique project to motivate, guide and support rural women and girls to become self sufficient and become Entrepreneurs 60 rural women from Survail village were trained in sewing and tailoring for three months provided sewing machines tailoring material and certified trainees along with course designs and instruct support with certification from Singer India Ltd.

Hello Womeniya : What is your appeal and message to Inner Wheel women .

Sunitha Vallam : Connectivity, electricity, safe drinking water, health care facility, food security, education, livelihood opportunities were severely lacking in these areas, one of the club in the district adopted a few villages, constructed health centre, regular medical check up are being conducted, donated motor bike, clothes, utensils, medicines , milk powder, groceries etc.

Hello Womeniya : Do you agree this pandemic brought a lot of changes in our personal and professional life

Sunitha Vallam : Happiness doesn’t result from what we get but from what we give.celebrated festivals conducted medical camps, donated bunk beds, blankets, groceries , clothes , hygiene kits, Adult diapers ceiling fans, vacuum cleaners to old age home

Hello Womeniya : Can you highlights some important service projects you did during this pandemic

Sunitha Vallam : One of the club in the district installed a baby feeding Kiosk project Swabhiman in public places as one of the key project launched this initiative a Baby feeding room at Jubilee bus station

Hello Womeniya : Being a Social entrepreneur what is your goal and vision about the upliftment of the society.

Sunitha Vallam : Being a social Entrepreneur, I am not just a member of Inner wheel but a person with several other responsibilities like a mother, a wife , a daughter , a sister and entrepreneur above all a woman by managing so many works and responsibilities yet managing to smile and keeping spirits high.A little help and a little kindness it’s not much but helps others and goes farther than you think.

Brief Introduction of International Inner Wheel :

International Inner Wheel  Club is an international women’s  Social organisation to create friendship, service and understanding. It has clubs in over 100 countries with over 100,000 members.IWC has very strong presence in India. It has more than 3000 thousands clubs in Urban and rural India. Since the Covid 19 Pandemic breaks out Inner wheel club launched charity campaign worldwide. In our Inner wheel Social entrepreneur series in this Episode we are introducing very popular face of IWC, she doesn’t need any kind of Introduction.

Sunitha Vallam :

Sunitha Vallam born on 14 th October 1969.She is the daughter of retired forest range officer Y.P.Rama Rao and Y.Vijayalakshmi Past President of Inner Wheel Club Warangal. Sunitha has always showcased great leadership skills where her journey from becoming a member in 1997 to become secretary in 2007-2008 and then president in 2009-2010 has been noteworthy. She excelled in these roles and was conferred the best award for both best Secretary and President respectively.Her election to become District Chairman is much obvious with all the experience and know how of the Inner Wheel.She is an Arts graduate married to well known Orthopaedic Surgeon and has taken charge of being Superintendent at ESI Hospital. She is a proud mother, both her children Daughter Ananya and Son Akhildeep are based in the US along with their spouses Nikhil kumar and Amulya, All of them are software professionals. She is also blessed with two beautiful grand daughters Anvi and Nirvi. She has balanced her professional life while following her passion of Cooking, Travelling, she is also a crossword puzzle aficionado.
